International Lifetime Achievement Award

Every other year, the Mensa Foundation awards US$1,000 to an outstanding professional who has contributed a lifetime to scholarly pursuits in intelligence, giftedness, or creativity. Nominations are being accepted now.

Nominees need not be members of Mensa.

The minimum requirements are:

1.  An exceptional body of work by a living person, over a period of not less than 15 years, in research, theory, and/or other scholarly work, and/oras an educator and/or practitioner, in the field of giftedness, brain function, human intelligence, creativity, or the field of intelligence testing.

2.  The body of work should have contributed significantly in unique or innovative findings, theoretical constructs, educational approaches or practices, and/or have made exceptional practical application of others' research or constructs.

3.  The body or work may be manifested in a single highly significant book; a minimum of 5 publications as primary author in refereed academic journals, a minimum of 8 publications as a secondary author in refereed academic journals, significant contributions as a presenter at professional conferences and/or a combination of the preceding items.

The deadline for applications is March 1, 2010.  Nominations require a copy of the nominee's resume or curriculum vita be submitted to Jill Beckham by the deadline.
