Bali to host Asian Mensa Gathering 201202 Jul 12
Applying brainpower to the problems of poverty is the main theme of the Asian Mensa Gathering conference, to be held in Bali, Indonesia from 21-23 September 2012.
The conference will be attended by members of national Mensa groups including Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Korea, Japan, Pakistan, China, Hong Kong, Philippines, Australia and New Zealand, and direct international members from countries that do not have a formal group. Members from Europe and the Americas are also expected to attend.
Day one of the conference kicks off with the official opening by Mensa Indonesia chairman Sahat Simarmata, followed by presentations from the five participants of Mensa International's Leadership Exchange Ambassador Programme. This will be followed by cultural programmes and social activities for the members and guests attending the conference.
Day two sees the main conference theme discussed by international speakers, aspects including improvement in brain capacity, education and stimulation of the brain and how countries can avoid the brain drain. Everyone can contribute to the final conference discussion to develop a path forward to help upgrade the economic status of the poor. A Press Conference follows.
There will be a closing programme of activities on Day three. Members and their guests will be free to stay on to enjoy the delights of Bali.
