Mensa members in Indonesia have something to celebrate as Mensa Indonesia is recognised as an Emerging National Mensa.  

Congratulating the group, Bibiana Balanyi, Mensa International's Director of Development, said: "I am extremely happy to announce that we have a new country at the international table: Mensa Indonesia has achieved Emerging status.

"Sahat Simarmata has been working on this for a long time. His group has been quite active, even without an official status and now, his and his team's work has been rewarded. I am convinced they will continue this excellent work and will soon achieve the next stages to become another Full National Mensa of the international community."

Mensa International recognises new Emerging National Mensa groups when the activities and administration organised by members in a country reaches a certain level. The group can then go on to achieve Provisional National Mensa status, and finally, to become a Full National Mensa, with a seat on the International Board of Directors.
