Mensa Sweden

I joined Mensa Sweden 2021 and found a community that a part of me had longed for. Being deeply interested in consciousness, the patterns of similar IQ of the people in our community has helped me understand humans, as well as AI and the world we live in better. Even though we are all different, the variable of IQ is one filter that I now understand better thanks to Mensa.

I joined Mensa almost twenty years ago, in 2005, because my piano teacher suggested me to pass the test and I did. The best thing about being a member is that Mensa has made me discover who I am. It has also made me feel that I am not alone in this world and like-minded people and multipotentialites exist. Mensa offered me an international environment where I can meet new friends.

I officially joined Mensa in the summer of 2023, and it’s like becoming a part of a big family of 150,000 minds – a clan of uniquely similar geniuses. Here, discussions on quantum physics or AI unfold like casual beer conversations. It’s a freakishly fantastic community, and I can’t help but love you all for making my eccentricity feel right at home!

I thought I’d give the test a try to see if I’m actually smart or if I’m just full of myself. Evidently I was not only the latter. Being a member has been great, especially the Facebook groups we have for everything! I’ve found friends, new perspectives, an apartment, and a feeling reminiscent of “home”.

Mensa Hong Kong

I am the Vice-Chairman of Mensa Hong Kong, and also the International Ombudsman. I joined Mensa Hong Kong in 2004, wanting to meet people to play board games with. The board game gatherings were great fun, but I also realized that Mensa was much more than just boardgames. It was great meeting many interesting people from all walks of life! I am looking forward to meeting more people at the upcoming international gatherings.

Gifted students and adults are frequently bullied starting as young children and carries through into adulthood. Mensa to me is about a safe place to exist, support each other, and help our communities. Mensa recognizes the standard deviation in IQ creates outliers who need an outlet to flourish in. The Mensa Foundation works to “identify and foster human intelligence for the benefit of humanity.” Mensa fosters a borderless place for all of us outliers to continue to grow and utilize our gifts for the betterment of global society.

I joined Mensa in 2018 when I was only 16 years old. I was within the vicinity when the Mensa testing was being held and tried my luck. It’s been 6 years now and Mensa allowed me to connect with people from all around the world, each with their own unique personalities. Mensa is not just about one’s IQ but a community that links like-minded individuals globally.

Being a Mensa member offers me the chance to travel abroad with Mensans, attend engaging lectures, learn more about foreign languages and cultures, and join diverse activities like paintball, karaoke, and pub quizzes. Mensa events have taken me to unexpected places and allowed me to connect with individuals with unique hobbies. It’s a great way to expand one’s horizons and meet like-minded people.

I joined Mensa 2 years ago because I was curious about this society. So, I took the test, and luckily, I passed. The best thing about being a member of Mensa is that I can find many people here that I could never have met in my everyday life and discuss exciting topics like law, philosophy, psychology, art, etc. I am glad that I took the test!

Coming to MENSA and becoming a member of this great organization was one of my dreams, and fortunately in 2020 by doing an IQ test, I succeeded in becoming the only official member of MENSA International in Afghanistan

The best thing I know about Mensa is that it is the best organizations which gathers different and special people from all over the world without any kind of racial, religious, cultural discrimination and makes everyone be kind to each other and exchange ideas freely.

Mensa is very valuable to me; I have found new friends from all over the world, learned new things, and made a big change in my life.

I joined Mensa in 2016 and been active member ever since. I was a board member and press officer of Finnish Mensa (2018-2019) and even the editor of chief of local Mensa magazine for a while. I’ve always been curious about Mensa and considered myself as a smart person, so I decided to do the test after the graduation. The best part of Mensa it the community and of course the events. I’ve got an access to a lot of interesting places and events and I’ve met great people in my country and internationally

Joined Mensa as my partner dragged me to the test and I was curious about my IQ. We both got in. The best thing about being a MENSA member is that you are part of a world wide family – wherever you go you meet people. I don‘t ask what MENSA can do for me – I ask what I can do for MENSA – being Austrian chairman since May 2023.

I joined Mensa 2011. A friend of mine really wanted to do the test. His motivation was so strong that it got me interested. Mensa membership allows us to connect with numerous amazing individuals across the world. It allowed me to participate in smart discussions about various fun and important topics. When I had specific questions, it gave me access to opinions and answers from very knowledgable, smart and capable people. I find that invaluable.

At age 30 I joined Mensa, looking for people to have great conversations with. With the Small Entrepreneur Special Interest Group that I started, we had many cheerful gatherings. As a volunteer I love giving back to this wonderful society. Being a certified coach on difficult emotions and fears, I absolutely love to work with highly gifted clients online. Our level of mutual understanding and connection goes deep and we make progress fast.

I am originally from French Guyana, but am a member of Mensa France now. I wanted to meet other Mensans, participate in common activities, talk and learn on various topics, and much more. I joined in 2022 and don’t have many experiences in Mensa yet, but I already went to some diners and had video calls where I could meet other very nice Mensans and with whom I could have nice talk. What Mensa had done for me? I guess open an international network of meetings.

For me, knowing that in Mensa there are many people who feel, live and reason similar to me, allows me to understand what I am: not the weirdo in the world that I used to believe, but a unique individual who belongs to a unique group. Mensa is my pride, and thanks to it I have learned a lot of knowledge, socialization and human understanding. Eternally grateful!

Mensa has given me intellectual kinship; I am surrounded by minds that grasp complex concepts as readily as I do, fostering stimulating discussions and pushing my own boundaries. I’ve also enjoyed the growth potential with access to diverse perspectives, challenging puzzles, and enriching events, fueling my insatiable hunger for knowledge and exploration. Mensa has provided me with purpose through contribution by utilizing my unique abilities to collaborate on projects, solve real-world problems, and potentially contribute meaningfully to society.

I joined Mensa in 2013, after being told repeatedly by my environment that I was ‘different’. I’m amazed at how easily strangers can become friends thanks to Mensa, and thankful that I can have profound discussions beyond the obligatory ‘weather talk’. Mensa has helped me figure out an approach to better help break down the walls of stigma and isolation surrounding the topic of being intellectually gifted in my country.

I’ve been a member since 2023, after finding out my IQ as a result of psychological tests. The best thing about Mensa is the opportunity to connect worldwide with like-minded individuals who share similar intellectual interests and abilities. For me, Mensa provides worldwide access to exclusive events, resources, and networking opportunities. Additionally, Mensa offers opportunities for social interaction, stimulating discussions, and the chance to participate in special interest groups and activities.

After dropping out of university in 1978, I wrote the test in 1981, to prove to myself that I wasn’t stupid. I met my future wife here. To have high-level intellectual affinity with someone you love is a great gift. We produced a bright son too – he’s a quant. Nothing lasts, however, and we divorced in 2020. Not being a graduate, I don’t fit in academic circles. Mensa provided me with my tribe.

Becoming a member of Mensa has offered me the opportunity to connect with likeminded — and different-minded — people from all over the world, and gives a sense of belonging to a borderless family of humans. I hope to connect and join forces with other Mensans working with digital games to create fun, meaning and change.

I took the test two years ago out of curiosity. Despite having attended the national gifted school in my home country, Iran, where the Mensa test was required for entry, I never knew about the organization, nor did I think I’d qualify! Since joining, I’ve attended 13 events in 9 countries and met so many wonderful people. Mensa has reconnected me with a forgotten aspect of myself and fostered a sense of belonging.

Meeting Mensans in discussions bring clarity.

As a monk, I like the discussing spirituality. As a musician, I enjoy intelligent art. As a human, I enjoy the networking. which led to me becoming the leader of the Poetic Genius Society (99.5) some years ago.

I decided to take an IQ test because my wife thought I was “different” and advised me to take a test. Following the test results, I joined Mensa that I already knew from conferences. Being part of Mensa means above all meeting interesting people and discussing in depth a wide variety of subjects. Before joining Mensa, I was not a sociable person and met very few people. Thanks to Mensa, I am more open to the outside world and regularly participate in meetings.
