  • 🌄 Tripoli, the capital of of Arcadia

War Museum, Cultural Centre, Matzouneio Public Library and the extremely well-organised Archaeological Museum, housed in a building designed by Ernst Ziller, an architect so enamoured by Greece that he ended up adopting its nationality.

  • 🏰 Karytaina

The castle was built during the Frankish occupation in the 13th century (probably in 1245) by the glorious French knight Geoffroy de Briel, Baron of Karytaina. De Briel, born in Greece, is one of the leading figures in the Chronicle of the Morea.

  • 🚣‍♀️ Rafting on Lousios and Alfeios rivers

The river is perfect for whitewater rafting and you’ll also love hiking and trekking in the gorge. Here in this Peloponnese landscape, lovers of outdoor sports will recharge their batteries.

  • 📜 Historic Andritsaina

Andritsaina has a number of historic mansions, the first fountain in the Peloponessos, (I Trani Vrysi) built in 1724 in the main square, and the Nikolopouleios Library, founded in 1854, which contains a collection of rare manuscripts from the 16th and 17th centuries as well as other important documents and artifacts relating to the 1821 War of Independence.

  • 🏺 Temple of Apollo Epicurius

Like the traveller Pausanias in the 2nd century BC, you too will be impressed by the isolated Τemple of Apollo Epicurius at Bassae, which means ‘little valley in the mountains’. The first ancient monument in Greece to be listed by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site, in 1986, it’s certain to engrave itself into your memory.

  • 🤺 Olympia: birthplace of the Olympic Games

In western Peloponnese, in the so-called "valley of the gods", Ancient Olympia grew to be the most celebrated sacred site of Ancient Greece, and the birthplace of the Olympic Games, the most important sports events in all antiquity: starting from 776 B.C., all Greeks – across the then known world – would be united every four years and all hostilities would be suspended so that everyone could take part in these games in the true spirit of sportsmanship. Olympia is now, as it used to be in the past, a famed destination, a powerful landmark known the world over.

  • 🏞️ Stemnitsa

What does the interior of a traditional home in Mountainous Arcadia look like? You’ll find out at the Folklore Museum of Stemnitsa, where reproductions of traditional workshops are also on view.

  • ⛰️ Dimitsana

Among the steep slopes of Mt. Mainalo in the Peloponnese nestles the mountain village of Dimitsana. Get a deeper insight into Greek history by visiting the places where the Greek Revolution of 1821 against the Ottoman occupation actually began; a place synonymous with legendary heroes, fierce battles and glorious achievements.
